The Trails Alliance sponsored the construction of 1780 linear feet of trail that travelled over 186 vertical feet of elevation in the Phase B section of the Box Canyon Trail.
Trans-Cascadia led a three-day, 40-person effort over Memorial Day weekend, 2024. The group built trail through some of the steepest and rockiest terrain in the entire Box Canyon Trail. To achieve this feat, 36 feet of discontinuous rock retaining wall were built in the steepest sections to support the trail.
The Trails Alliance is grateful for the professionalism and hard work of Trans-Cascadia and its volunteers. (Read the work report here.)
Next up will be to connect the lower Phase B trail with the upper Phase B trail, thus completing the second section. This work will be done by LCTA during the fall of 2024 in partnership with the US Forest Service.
